Water well requirements for wells located in the District
- Non-exempt wells require a permit from the Guadalupe County Groundwater Conversation District (GCGCD) - https://gcgcd.org/permits.html
- Existing wells are required to be registered with the Guadalupe County Groundwater Conversation District (GCGCD) - https://www.gcgcd.org/well-registration.html
What is an Exempt Well?
A well that is used SOLELY for domestic use or for providing water to livestock or poultry that is either drilled, equipped or completed so that it is incapable of producing more than 25,000 gallons of groundwater a day (~17.5 gpm) is exempt from permitting. (GCGCD Rule 5.2)
An exempt well must be registered.
