30 years in the County Tax Office (13 years in Glasscock, 17 years in Guadalupe)

Murphy received her state certification as a registered Tax Assessor-Collector from the Board of Tax Professional Examiners in 1987 and has been re-certified in 1992,1997,2002 and 2007.

• Member of Tax Assessor-Collector Association of Texas, where she is a member of the Program and bylaw committees, Site Committee, and TPW committee
• Member of Texas Association of Assessing Officers
• President of the Texas Association of Tax Assessor/Collectors (2005-2006)
• Member of Kingsbury Baptist Church
• Member of the Texas Association of School Assessors

Murphy was appointed to the position of Guadalupe County Tax Assessor/Collector in April 1998 and elected to office in November 1998.
