Renewal Voter Registration Certificates Delayed
|
The mailing of renewal voter registration certificates has been delayed throughout the State of Texas due to ongoing litigation regarding the State's redistricting plans.
Previous voter registration certificates, printed on blue paper, expired on December 31, 2011. Renewal certificates, printed on yellow paper, will be mailed to all registered voters once the State redistricting plans are finalized by the Federal Courts. Voters can expect to receive their new certificates before the 2012 Primary Elections. The new yellow certificates will be valid through December 31, 2013.
Please contact the Guadalupe County Elections Office at 830-303-6363 should you have any questions regarding your voter registration certificate.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR 2012
Guadalupe County will be conducting the following elections in 2012: April 3rd – Primary Elections; June 5th – Primary Runoff Elections; May 12th – Cities, Schools, and other district Elections; November 6th – General Election (Presidential).
The Primary Election has been delayed due to State redistricting issues that are pending in Courts. There is a possibility that the date for the Primary and Runoff Election could change again.
The pending litigation for redistricting has delayed the mailing of Voter Registration Certificates; however, Voter’s registration has not expired even though their Certificates indicate they expired December 31st. Once the redistricting issues have been resolved, voters will receive their new Voter Registration Certificates.
Also, since the 2010 census, voters will need to make note of their Precinct Number when they receive their new Voter Registration Certificates. The County has been redrawn and many voters will be in new voting precincts and could be represented by different elected officials.
Additional information regarding upcoming elections and voting precincts will be provided on this website once it has been determined.
